Younique Product Review

I was recently given the very generous gift of several Younique beauty products from a friend.  I’m a pretty basic girl when it comes to makeup.  I tend to worry more about skin care, and keep the makeup to a minimum.  As long as I have my eye liner and mascara (and eyelash curler), I’m good.

A beauty expert, I am not.   I actually don’t know anything about the Younique brand, and opted not to research it, so please bear in mind that all opinions are based on my personal experience with the products.

My friend Cindy definitely had my preferences for makeup in mind when she sent me a goodie box of products: Moodstruck Precision eyeliner pencil, Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes mascara, Shine makeup remover cloths, and Refreshed Rose Water refresher spray.

Moodstruck Precision Eyeliner Pencil

I love this pencil.  It doesn’t have that chalky, hard, um… pencil feel of a drugstore eyeliner pencil.  When you use it, you can tell you’re using a really high-quality product.  It goes on smoothly, doesn’t smudge, stays on all day, and sharpens really well when it needs it.  I have to say, this was my second favorite product in the goodies box.  🙂

Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara

Color me surprised when I opened the mascara box and there were TWO tubes in there.  This is a two-part system- first you use the “transplanting gel” and then brush on the “3D fibers.”

The fibers kind of freaked me out at first, but they transform your lashes into gorgeous, thick versions of themselves.  My lashes are pretty good (thank you, God) to begin with, so for me, this experience felt decadent.  It takes a little practice, but the process isn’t rocket science by any means.

Here’s a side by side for comparison.  The “before” pic is sans makeup of any kind, and the “after” pic is with the eyeliner and mascara:

After

Sorry.  I couldn’t for the life of me get a before and after from the same angle for some reason.  Apparently I’m camera use-deficient.  But I tried to get it in the same light and all that good stuff.  I also made sure not to use a filter in either picture so y’all could get an accurate look into the results.

You know that feeling of being all gross and sweaty and filthy after being outside doing yard work in 100 degree heat?  And then you come in and take a shower and it’s the cleanest clean you’ve ever felt in your life?  That’s how this spray feels.  I even tried putting it in the fridge and then sprayed it on after my post-yard work shower.  It. Was. Fabulous.

My only criticism, if I’m nit-picking, is the fragrance.  It has a distinct rose scent.  I tend to be EXTREMELY sensitive to smell, so pretty much stick with unscented products because the smell just gets to me after awhile.  If you’re at all sensitive to smells, you might want to steer clear of this product, but the ACTUAL product, I have NO COMPLAINTS about.  It’s clean, light, and refreshing! If you love scented products, you will love this!

Shine Makeup Remover Cloths

I LOVE this product.  Love it.  Love. Love. Love.  They take your makeup off easily (even waterproof mascara) and cleanly.  But the BEST part- they make my skin feel so soft, and I have no scientific evidence to back it up, but I swear it evens out the skin tone under my eyes (see above eye pics).

These cloths are- no contest- my favorite product from the goodie box!  My skin has become significantly more sensitive over the years, and these don’t even so much as make my skin turn red.  It just really feels like you’re nurturing your face.

Younique is definitely an investment in your beauty and skin care routine.  But after trying these four products, I can say with complete confidence that Younique is absolutely a HIGH-QUALITY brand.

  1. I just saw a friend on Facebook do a side by side comparison with this make-up. I don’t know which products she used but one of them much be a foundation of some sort because you can tell a difference and she looks fantastic in the after photo!
